We currently stock what we feel is the finest paper available for printing in terms of archival qualities and print fidelity.
FineArt Baryta, 325gsm
This paper sets a benchmark for high colour depth, wide gamut and image clarity. This paper offers photographers a “wow” factor particularly to black and white prints with an extremely high dmax and the finest grey tones, utilising a bright white. Using barium sulphate in the premium inkjet coating ensures the typical gloss that makes this paper a genuine replacement for traditional Baryta papers from analogue laboratories.
Museum Etching, 350gsm
This paper offers the luxurious texture of a traditional etching board and a natural white point, an ideal medium for images with soft tints or fine grey nuances as well as more saturated reproduction prints. The extra heavy grammage also increases its appeal.
William Turner, 310gsm
This paper is simply exceptional for watercolours, drawings and other work and is our most popular choice. It has a beautiful textured surface and is a Natural white, with 100% rag content. With a mean pH value of 7, it has excellent archival qualities.
German Etching, 310gsm
Similar in tone to William Turner, it has a slightly smoother surface, is equally acid free and also mould made. Very suitable for a variety of print editions including fine detailed work, black and white photography.
We print on 340gsm Canvas Artist, this is a matt artists’ cotton canvas with a high quality texture with a natural white tone. It can also be stretched and then varnished after printing which is a popular choice for digital canvas prints. Its coating gives a very good water resistance and print reproduction fidelity.
We can help identify mounting and framing options for you and your customers and assist in making the best choice.
We use printers from both Canon and Epson and can offer prints on paper or canvas up to 44″ wide. So a B0 print (1000 x 1414mm or 39.4 x 55.7inches) is easily within the capabilities of our machines. We have reproduced enlargements of pencil sketches on to canvas 3 metres long for the artist to then work on.
Our studio and print shop is equipped with top of the range Eizo colour calibrated screens linked to an Apple network with high security file storage and back-up out putting to a range of Canon and Epson wide format printers offering print sizes up to 44″ wide. The Canon printers use Canon’s new advanced LUCIA PRO 12 colour ink system. Whilst the Epsons use Ultrachrome inks.
Our Canon printers use Canon’s new advanced LUCIA PRO 12 ink system. Whilst the Epsons use Ultrachrome inks. Both of these ink systems are archival and have exceedingly good longevity.
The Canon are especially suited to reproducing black and white photography.
“Canon’s new LUCIA PRO ink system, an 11-colour (plus Chroma Optimizer) system which uses an optimised resin coating for denser ink droplets, which increases the colour gamut. The LUCIA PRO high longevity pigment ink system includes a newly formulated Photo Black, Matt Black, Grey and Photo Grey, which together with a specialist Chroma Optimizer ink, ensures professional quality monochrome prints with increased black density and uniform glossiness. LUCA PRO inks deliver a broader colour gamut when printing on fine art paper and expanded colour areas in dark areas. The LUCIA PRO ink system features dedicated nozzles for each of the black inks (Photo and Matte Black), saving time and ink by eliminating the need to change inks when changing papers. The Chroma Optimiser improves light reflection and reduces bronzing by regulating the ink-droplet height for an even brilliance across the print surface.”
We keep the artist’s digital print files and a paper copy of the proof they signed off. We have set up high security file storage and cloud synchronised backup.
